Which leadership opportunities have been most valuable for you?
“As the co-chair for the admissions counselors, I have had the chance to meet a group of students at Kellogg who I might not have met otherwise. It also has let me give back to Kellogg while I am still a student and help shape the future classes here. Serving as the co-chair of the panels for the Black Management Association Conference was also a great experience. I was able to work with some extremely talented students and speakers to help coordinate four different panels for one of the biggest conferences Kellogg puts together.”

Why did you choose Kellogg?
“My first contact with Kellogg was at an admission event in Accra. I was impressed with the openness and easygoing nature of the alumni who were all leading business figures in Ghana. I sought a school where I could interact with some of the best people in their fields, learn in an open, liberal environment, feel challenged and still be able to have fun. Thus far, I have not been disappointed. The student body at Kellogg has proven to be more diverse in terms of experience and geography than I ever imagined. People are always ready to help each other, and learning becomes a more pleasant journey with your classmates and professors. The communal spirit at Kellogg has allowed me to build lifelong relationships that I can see serving me well beyond my business school days.”

What has been your most memorable experience at Kellogg?
“One of the greatest learning experiences was when I was part of the leadership team on GIM China. It was an honor to work with Dean Jacobs and Professor Lee, both experts in their field. I was humbled to see how very important alumni, government officials and university leaders in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau made time to meet with us during our trip. It is one thing to read about China and quite another to hear about it through leaders in the community. The kindness of everyone who ensured that our trip was worthwhile goes beyond words. Dean Jacobs has left a significant and positive impact around the world. I am glad to be at Kellogg!”

What international experience/exposure have you had at Kellogg?
“Every day feels like an international experience — just coming to school and interacting with my classmates from all over the world. Also, I led a Global Initiatives in Management trip to Russia and Finland and participated in KWEST Egypt.”

What has been your most memorable experience at Kellogg?
“One of my most memorable experiences at Kellogg was participating in the Annual Kellogg Marketing Competition as a first-year. Over the course of six weeks, my team put our marketing, strategy and sales skills into action. We developed a marketing strategy, launched a promotional campaign and sold 500 units of our real CPG product to more than 1000 members of the Kellogg community at the Marketing Competition TG.”

What do you appreciate most about your classmates?
“Keeping the collaborative spirit even in very competitive situations. In spite of interviewing for the same job, I received phenomenal preparation help from my classmates without which I could not have gotten my dream job."

What international experience/exposure have you had at Kellogg?
“Outside the classroom, the opportunities are endless – whether it’s through cultural clubs like the Asian Management Association and the Indian Business Club, or through group travel like KWEST and GIM trips.”

How have you interacted with your professors outside of the classroom?
“One of the most rewarding experiences I have had thus far in my Kellogg career is an independent study with Prof. Richard Honack. My independent study has truly been a customized learning experience and has enabled me to learn more about marketing within an industry that I have a strong passion for. Prof. Honack has been instrumental in providing project guidance, but also incredibly receptive to my academic interests.”

Which leadership opportunities have been most valuable for you?
“The Kellogg Student Association has been an extremely valuable experience for me. As VP of career management on the KSA executive committee, I have a dual role of being the voice of students to the administration and the voice of the administration to the students. It has allowed me to understand and shape the partnership between the students and administration as we work together to enhance the Kellogg community. It’s truly a unique opportunity to give back to Kellogg and shape the future of the school. I also have truly enjoyed working on the Day at Kellogg executive committee. It has been a great way to give back to Kellogg by planning a weekend full of activities to show prospective students what life at Kellogg is like. It has given me a unique opportunity to learn about all the different parts of the Kellogg community from student clubs to academic departments to alumni interactions. It is a lot of fun to see the students, faculty and administration come together to show their pride in Kellogg.”

Why did you choose the One-Year (1Y) MBA Program?
The Kellogg 1Y Program is such a unique proposition: the opportunity to complete an MBA at a top university in 12 months, while having the flexibility to completely tailor the program to get exactly what I wanted out of an MBA. Having an undergraduate degree in business, I did not want to take “the basics” all over again. Additionally, I knew that I wanted to return to consulting after Kellogg, so the program was ideal for me. Ultimately, I’m thrilled that I chose the program because I landed my dream job and I’ve been able to take classes that I’m truly excited about, all in just one year!
